Lunching of Phase 2 community outreach and agriculture value chain

promotion for Youth through access to finance in GBA, currently happening at NACCUG Training Academy. Similar events were held in LRR and URR respectively earlier this month. The community outreach and agriculture value chain promotion for Youth in the GBA will be implemented by the Gambia Horticultural Enterprise (GHE). Wuli and Sandu Development Agency (WASDA) in the URR and Manager’s Prescription in LRR.

This part of the project agreement between NACCUG with funding from the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany to implement a microenterprise start-up support project as part of the ECOWAS Regional Stabilization and Development Fund the Gambia Pilot Project implemented by GIZ. The Micro-enterprise Start-up Support Initiative (MESSI), targets youths aged 16 to 35 years.

The MESSI is being implemented in three Gambian administrative regions, namely, Greater Banjul Area, Lower River Region, and Upper River Region. The MESSI aims to improve access to financial capital and knowhow for young entrepreneurs who manage microenterprises or have innovative business ideas for start-ups in the horticulture, fishery, and poultry value chain.
